3 Holy Lies

I define a Holy Lie as a lie I believe to be true that has Holy implications.  Within this context, God is a Holy God.  So a Holy Lie is a lie that has a direct negative effect on my ability to please God.  It is the kind of lie that allows me to remain in control of my life and to continue in rebellion against God.  In that sense, these lies form the basis for sin, rebellion and disobedience.  I believe there are 3 Holy Lies and most of humanity has bought into them.    Most people believe they can define truth.  They believe they can define God and they believe they can define right and wrong.

The Bible teaches that all of these ideas are lies and stand in opposition to God’s truth.  Unfortunately, they are lies that every human being wants to believe because these are the lies that allow us to get what we want on our own terms.  Believing these lies leaves us in control (we think).
